In contrast to the high energy and fast paced environment of the WMC, Miambient will offer participants a rejuvenating oasis of music and inspiration, set amidst the Standard’s state-of-the-art spa facilities. The conference will explore the many facets of the global ambient music scene from pure sonic landscapes to downtempo global grooves. It will feature an international line up of artists and DJ’s, with new-edge visuals created by some of the industry’s finest VJ’s.Miambient will also highlight the growing global movement of “Visual Music” and will feature prominent international visual artists and VJ’s. All the ‘visualists’ will perform with the DJ’s and musicians for special “visionary art and music sessions”, where ambient music unites with the spoken word and visuals. Other highlights will include performance art and dance, spoken word, sacred acoustic music, holistic therapies, and delicious food provided by Lido, the Standard’s world-class organic restaurant.Miambient will run 16 hours per day from 6:00 am to midnight, concurrent with the WMC and will be free. This will allow participants to drop in anytime, especially in the early morning hours, where there is a great need for a focused after-hours chill event.
