Mac and Cheese is Dinner, Not Art

Think about how many macaroni noodles go uneaten every day when artistic kindergarteners glue them to construction paper. To solve this problem, we created an iPad app called Dinner, Not Art, at CP+B on behalf of Kraft Mac and Cheese. Dinner, Not Art is a free download from iTunes that lets iPad owners create macaroni-based artworks, before submitting them for display on a digital fridge. Once submitted, we tally the virtual macaroni noodles and donate ten times the number of real-life noodles to Feeding America. The noodles are rescued and the hungry can eat. So far, over half a million noodles have been donated through the app. But wait, what if you don’t have an iPad? You can still join in on the fun at DinnerNotArt.com, where you can paint with macaroni inside your web browser. The best artworks will be featured on the Mac and Cheese Facebook page.
