Now I never thought I’d type this sentence: Watch, as a dancing cube of Jello takes over your phone and bounces along to your favorite song. But the future is now, and Kraft has released the world’s first app that lets you play with your food. And if you wondered why you hadn’t seen me all summer, it’s because I’ve been at CP+B, churning out the code that makes that possible.
JELL-O Jiggle-it is a (FREE) universal app, meaning it runs on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. The app really only does one thing, but it’s do-doing it well… choose a flavor, pick a song (or crank your stereo), and then watch a funky cube of jello break it down like Soul Train. It’s not just a parlor trick: the jiggling jell-o is smart enough to listen to the track, then dance along to the beat. Pause the music, and the cube stops in its tracks. Turn the music back up, and it keeps moving. And the hits don’t stop there – you can trigger many of over 30 dance moves by swiping the screen along with the music. If you hit the right combination, you can trigger a disco dance floor that rivals a scene from Staying Alive… minus the polyster suit and hairy chest.
The JELL-O Jiggle-It support site says that future updates are coming soon, so stay tuned for more cubic, gelatinous dance music fun. What’s next, a Jell-o DJ?
